What will happen if i color my hair while i still have highlights in it?
i have dark brown hair and rlly light brown highlights, the sumtimes look a lil orange, If i dye all my hair light auburn with the highlights still in my hair, how will the color come out? What will happen if i color my hair while i still have highlights in it?
possibly light auburn ish but ur high lights will be lighter too, i had dark brown hair with blond hi lites, dyed it dark brown. my hi lites went away but a lil lighter than the others with no hi litesWhat will happen if i color my hair while i still have highlights in it?
It should just cover up the highlights you got. Nothing to worry about...if anything, the highlights will be a little lighter than the rest of your hair, but I doubt it.
if you color full head one color like you said auburn your highlight still be lighter than the others, you have to color your highlights first much darker than your the color you choose to make then equal, or else go to the expert trusted salon they can help you to color your hair equally!
The parts that are highlighted will more than likely be lighter than the rest of your hair

Should I color my hair dark on my own and then go to the salon and get highlights?
I don't wanna spend that much money on my hair and I just want a cut and color. But as I see it does cost alot. So I was thinking bout dying my hair at home with dark brown hair dye and then going to the salon maybe the next day or after and asking for highlights. Is it a bad idea?Should I color my hair dark on my own and then go to the salon and get highlights?
no, I do this all the time. I keep my base shade of med. golden blonde and go to the salon for highlights and haircut. In between I touch up the roots only with my med. golden blonde. I usually go to the salon for highlights, three times a year. More visits for haircuts alone.girl myspace

What color streaks(highlights or etc) should i put in my curly light brown hair?
i have really curly hair and i want to add more color to it. wat color though? i was thinking about red but should i do streaks or the ends on the bottom? What color streaks(highlights or etc) should i put in my curly light brown hair?
I think that no color would look fine...but with curly hair, red won't show that much. I think a caramel. I have a friend with super curly hair, she put a light caramel brown color and it looks great. Don't dye your hair, those color highlights would look fantastic.
I would think that streaks are best, the bottom fringe isn't really a curly hair thing, more of the straight hair...
http://celebsalon.sheknows.com/wp-conten鈥?/a>
this is kinda how it will look, but I have no idea how your hair actually is, so.....
hope i helped! What color streaks(highlights or etc) should i put in my curly light brown hair?
you could do a lighter brown or even blonde.

i'd honey brown or blonde maybe, just like random strips of hair. that would be cute, or even an orangish brownWhat color highlights should I get? (my hair pic included)?
you should get a few colors of highlights. i would suggest a sandy blonde, a darker brown, and a lighter brownn.
i would only use the darker brown for lowlights though
A lighter brown or blonde would look great !
Get shades of lighter brown and some blonde

My favorite hair colors, from most favorite to least favorite:
Natural dark brown / black
Medium to dark red (natural of course)
Medium-dark brown (natural)
Medium red (natural)
Dyed dark red
Dyed dark brown or black
Bright red (natual)
Strawberry blonde (natural)
Strawberry blonde (with red added)
Carmel (highlighted from a darker color)
Blonde bleached from a light brown or darker blonde

Bleached blonde (from a darker color) - eww!
Frankly, the ';punk'; colors like pink, dark green, blue and purple are MUCH more interesting than bleached blonde hair or bleached blonde highlights. At least those colors are interesting and not overdone.POLL:Your favorite haircolor and color of highlights to go in it? And state your hair color.(add a pic!)?

I got tons of compliments when I had it this way. What is the best color of highlights to get in your hair?
not sure but listen to this advice
i had medium brown hair
and i got blond highlights
and ive had them for about 2 years
at first i rly liked them, but then i felt like they weren't blond enough
so i got more blond
and more
and more!
now my hair is very blond, and almost stripe-y because of the different shades of blond i have.
so just dont overdo it on the blonde
and btw, im going to dye my hair back to its original color soon because the of 'stripe affect'
oh another thing.... the place i get my highlights at are RLY expensive so beware of cost....
if you rly want to get highlights get some brown thats lighter than your current color
also if its dark brown enough, a rly subtle blue or purple looks rly cool
i know this girl who has a pinkish stripe in her brown hair and it looks really cool
(:
it depends on your skin type, eye color and overall appearance.
If you have pale skin with rosy undertones you should get a reddish highlight but if you have a pale skin with golden undertones you should stick with a blonde or light brown.....
I suggest talking to yout stylist or looking up something ont he internet
A couple shades lighter (or darker for lowlights) than your current hair color.
I don't like the look of bold highlights that obviously don't belong there naturally. Mine have always been subtle naturally, so I kept it that way when I dyed it. You can't really go wrong this way.
Lighter browns, and medium to dark blonds. You don't want a too light colour because then it would just look like unnatural streaks. But, you don't want to get anything darker than a light-gold brown, or else it won't show. BTW, soft reds would go nicely.
Has your hair always been dark brown? If so then I think you should just get a lighter brown in it. I used to be blonde and then my hair started turning brown. Now I just add hints of blonde in it and it looks natural. You don't want it to look fake.
most people want dramatic highlights, but the most attractive is always 2-3 shades lighter or darker than your natural hair. Go with a chocolate brown, light brown and darker blonde mix
Carmel! I have them and they're gorgeous!(:
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_F9yEJP1jukY/RwzbuJ…
Honestly, natural is the way to go.. but if you MUST.. I would reccomend caramel color highlights. just a shade lighter than your natural.. it will definitely help. (:
maybe some hints of red it depends on your skin tone and eye color
hints of blonde
really anything
you could go a shade darker of brown
I have dark brown hair and i recently got highlights their a blondish/caramel color and they look fine
I have dark brown hair with light brown highlights and it makes my hair look lighter and more lively.
I always thought black highlights in dark hair was cool. It's more original than blonde highlights.
Polluted acid rain and flaming gasoline.

redish brown or honey colered blonde
Blonde highlights
Maybe like, a caramel color? I think that looks really good in brown hair.
deep reds or purples look really good with dark browns and especially if you have green eyes :)

My skin color is caramel... Please offer any other advice regarding hair coloring. What color highlights look nice with black hair???
Aw, don't highlight your hair. Black hair is beautiful. Don't add a bunch of fake-looking stripes to it.What color highlights look nice with black hair???
red looks good. a friend tried it and it looks very nice.
red or auburn
slight purple tinge, i swear to god it compliments ur skin tone and is glamrous, not loud purple just subtle, my friend got it, im jelous
Carmel or stay in the browns....alburn looks nice too
My hair is black also, although I have more olive-toned skin. I have done caramel, violet-purple and bright ruby red. All three look good. Good luck to you and have fun with whatever colour you choose!
try the highlighted golden it might looks good
dark red [make it blend in], maroon, that blonde color that EVERYONE gets [overrated], dark blue maybe.. as long as u blend it in really good.
almost any color will look good on black hair, as long as u blend it in.
try deep brown and red highlights. don't do anything too light or thick or they won't look natural. i have black hair and medium and dark brown highlights, it looks GREAT. try it out!
hope all goes well!
red!! that would be awesome
well none really but brown i guess.
I think red would really look good.
highlights that match your skin tone! that would look awesome!
dirty blonde?
i thnk auburn
Brown or red highlights always look nice in black hair.
I saw a woman once who had long black hair with a single platinum streak in the front. She looked like a skunk! NOT a good look!
deep brown
deep brown that evolves into a medium brown and then maybe even carmel
I like red because sometimes when the hair is that dark and you put in platinum blond in it it looks kinda cheap
light brown, red, and honey blonde
chestnut, coffee, chocolate
just about anything that is still dark, but lighter than natural.
don't go any lighter than a level 4. anything lighter will end up looking trashy and you will spend a FORTUNE getting it done all the time. the closer you can get to natural, the less often it needs to be done. (that's the reason most stylists will do it. to make you come back every 3-5 weeks at $100 a pop -NO THANX)
red
If you want something noticeable go for the honey blonde. If you want soemthing not really noticable, but a change so that people will know there is a small change go for like a brown or aburn
Red usually looks pretty good with black, or try brown, that isn't that much different, but it makes it interesting. The hair stylist can probably give you some tips.
golden%26amp; brown lookes nice
darker browns and deeper reds look pretty in black hair.
try honey blone on if you could pull it a ruby red
if you want something dramatic, red, burgundy or something like that-if you get any that are brown color, stay away from colors that go orange or yellow-looks tacky like a home job.

Well, i agree with the caramel colour suggested, a nice rich caramel. dark brown or light blonde
I have the same question... he he
blonde all the way
I have med brown hair ,i have highlighted mine myself for 15 yrs,i also color and highlight other peoples hair, try caramel it is not too light it will look natural with your hair color ,note that if you have colored your hair ,if you are doing it yourself ,get highlights for color treated hair ,if it is vergin hair ,you dont have to be concerned with that ,ask a well known cosmotologist,in your town ,i think the shade you get is ,up to you,but i undrestand that you want other peoples opinions,if you try caramel ,and its not light enough for you ,you can always, highlight again, with a lighter shade, wait at least 2 weeks or 1 mnth ,before you proccess your hair again, what ever you do dont pick any thing that says ASH blonde it lookes grey . HEY GOOD LUCK !!!!!I HOPE YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT. KATHY A!!!! If you are going to a salon get it color weaved ,they can add more than one shade ,highlights and color . multi colors of similar shades looks very natural.thats all ,,lots of luck!!!!!!!!!

Dark red or chestnut.
Get Blonde but have it toned w/ a cafe au lait toner. I'd also add a darker brown lowlight. It adds dimension to your hair, %26amp; looks pretty sweet.
gold or copper

What color should i get my hair highlighted???
i use to have really blonde hair when i was younger over the years it turned like a dirty blonde but ive gotten really bright blonde highlights over the years. especially durin the summer. but ive also got strwberry blonde once and a light brown but for some reason i dont like my hair color now it just seems dirty, its blonde in random spots and all dark underneath i have really thin hair and my mom wont let me dye it should i get it highlighted dark brown or hgihlighted alot really blonde!?!? hellpp!?What color should i get my hair highlighted???
me 2! if i were you (and i have same hair but thick) i would get blonde. dark brown would look like a skunk. blonde would look very natural because u once were a blonde. stick with natural. highlighting is supposed to look natural, if i (as a blonde) dyed my hair dark brown, would it look natural? No. But you, as a dirty blonde, you have some shades of blonde, by highlighting you will be enhancing thoose true colors, it will bring your inner beauty out. What color should i get my hair highlighted???
i think you should get dark brown highlights, and start them halfway through your hair instead of at the roots, it looks a lot more natural that way. really blonde highlights on a dirty brown background doesnt seem as good an idea.

What color highlights for blond hair?
If I got red I would feel like my hair is ketchup and mustard.
I usually straighten my hair- i have some dirty blond there, I'm working on lightening it up with spray that makes the sun lighten my hair

lighter blondeWhat color highlights for blond hair?
Some lighter blonde and darker and maybe some medium brown. That should look nice.
You have seriously great hair. I would go with lighter blond streaks or you could go chocolate streaks, if you are really game pink would be great. I hope this helps
black
dark brown
well...
if you used an iron based sun lighting spray i strongly suggest you don't play with colours they will turn to green!
for you hair colour the best would have been to do some white and brown highlights it would have given a nice balance of tons and be the best for the regrowth
Bright neon blue! XD
black ...:)
If you get chunky highlights that are
brown it would look really
good. especially because you are lightening your hair.
Good Luck :-)
a fade pink, black, even brighter blonde, or ligh brown. depends on wat ya like too.

Does those shampoo sold to enhance highlights and color withe hair, like Pantene, really works ?
DO NOT!! I REPEAT DOOO NOOOTT USE ANYTHING PANTENE!!!! pantene is really bad for your hair, it has so much wax in it all it does is coat your hair and will eventually make it dull and lifeless and break off and everything. DO NOT use it!!Does those shampoo sold to enhance highlights and color withe hair, like Pantene, really works ?
My daughter uses the light blonde one made by John Frieda I think and it makes her hair seem brighter and shinier. It's not a big dramatic effect, but more like a refreshening of your color.Does those shampoo sold to enhance highlights and color withe hair, like Pantene, really works ?
they work, but the results are only noticeable the first few times you use them. they are best if you use them right after you get your hair highlighted or colored because they help seal in the color.
If your hair is higlited or dyed, be sure to use shampoo for color treated hair. I have had to use regular shampoo before, and it makes my hair gross, and the color looks nasty. I use Loreal Vive for colored hair, and it always looks beatiful!girl myspace

I am going to re-highlight my sister-in-laws hair and I would like some advise. She likes the color the way is
I just need to touch up the roots. She has dirty blonde hair with light blonde highlights. She has REALLY long hair. Has only had it colored that one time. (when I did it). I also want to go to sally beauty to buy the product. Do I use bleach or a blonde color?? Thank you!!I am going to re-highlight my sister-in-laws hair and I would like some advise. A blonde color. Bleach is soo bad for you hair.I am going to re-highlight my sister-in-laws hair and I would like some advise. She likes the color the way is
if you used blonde color last time do it again but bleach will be the best way to lift it just try not to get it on the hair that was bleached last time good luck.

I thinking about temporary highlightsI have medium length hair thats is dark black ,what color highlights should I get?
Light brown highlights or red highlights work well on dark black hair. The lighter brown would be more professional looking as well as more natural looking than the red, but the red is nice for a more casual look.I have medium length hair thats is dark black ,what color highlights should I get?
I'm not sure what you mean by temporary highlights. Any lightening done on the hair is permanent; it does not wash out. Regarding the color, carmel-golden browns are very popular right now coupled with your natural color. They add warm and brighten the look without being too obtrusive
brown, to reddish brown
I think dark red - like a burgendy would be awesome!!
or, maybe very thin blonde (not too many blonde because it would look bad) but if you didn't get many, it would look nice.
I think the ';burgendyish'; color would be the best though - it would look so great!!!!
u didnt maention ur skin color
any way very light brown highlights will look good

Should I do a tannish-blonde, a burgundy color, or a light brown? What color highlights look best on people with dark hair (particularly asians)?
Light brown with gold tones will look very nice w/ typical straight black asian hair. What color highlights look best on people with dark hair (particularly asians)?
Burgundy would look really cute!
there are 2 colors that look very nice for highlights in Asian hair a red-Violet and also a caramel color. don't try the caramel at home go to a salon because anything u buy at a store will not get u light enough. it will just get u to an orange color(not pretty).
I think burgundy will be the best choice. It looks fab
Maybe a little of both; the tannish-blond and the light brown! I have and asian friend who did this and it looks great on her!
a carmel always looks good a red is wild but i like that on just about any dark hair color
Auburn, burgundy, or dark brown would look good. bright colors like gold or blonde clash with dark hair and looks tacky.
I would go to my hairdresser and ask there advice. I wouldnt trust the advice of people who cant even see my skin tone, eye color and natural hair color.
I would go burgundy, it just seems like so many Asians have bright blond highlights, and I don't think it looks particularly good.
i would say a burgandy or a dark tanish color :)
reds, coppers, and warm browns.
My niece is half Hawaiian and uses a great burgandy high light in her hair. It really looks great! I vote for that one!

hi i think any colour would suit you ive got light blue eyes and fair skin , and my natural colour hair is light blonde, and at first i dyed my hair a nice aubern( ive not spelt that right i know) red should i say, and that looked really good, then when i got fed up with that i dyed it jet black and i have kept it that colour for about five years,i love it and i think it suits my complexion(sorry i cant spell) i would say any colour would go its what you make of it. i am definatly more confident with black hair than blonde. and it makes your blue eyes stand out too. and another good point is i dont get taken as a dumb blonde as much, only by the people who know me. im sorry if i have gone on a bit but i hope this helps........................

darkishh not too dark brown, with some blonde highlights.
one of my friends has it and she fits the dispriction of you, and it looks good so try it out.
or you can try something that looks really cute; blonde hair on top and black or brown hair on the bottom. it looks totally cute.
definitely medium blonde hair. Don't go too light or it'll certainly wash you out.
I'd suggest a very warm honey color with high and low lights. You're stylist will know what you mean.

I have highlights, and I want to color my hair....?
I had highlights put in about a month or so ago, and now I want to color my hair. (I have blond hair, and I would like to go to a light brown color) I heard that if you color your hair with highlights, it can turn your hair green! I actually have trouble believing this but I just wanted to make sure.
And, I was wondering if you would recommend having it done in a salon, or doing it at home with a kit. I've never actually colored my hair before so I really don't want to mess it up!
Thanks! =]I have highlights, and I want to color my hair....?
Chances are your hair won't turn green, however its not completely unheard of... just depends on the chemical reaction your hair has....
If it were me, especially since you want to go darker, and you have never colored your hair before I would go to the salon, they can help you choose the right shade, etc... depending on the texture of your hair and the base color of your hair, you could pull the red up, what that means is that instead of having a brown, you will have a reddish brown, if your hair is prone to turning a redder shade, you can use an ash brown color, the ash uses a contrast that will counteract the brown....
Until you get used to how your hair is going to color, I would go to a salon just to be on the safe side, trust me it is much cheaper going the first time, than going after you've screwed something up and have to have a corrective color done, which could become very very costly!I have highlights, and I want to color my hair....?
Yes your hair can turn green or purple or any color because its kinda like mixing playdoh when you mix colors. Not knowing what your hair looks like its hard to say do it yourself.... but i recommend a salon to get the color you want then if you want to do it yourself after that match up the color from where ever and do it every month or month and a half... depending on how fast your hair grows. Its a huge mess and i can bet you will like it best if you get it done by someone and then do it on your own later...
you should be able to color your hair at home. if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, have your best friend come over and do it for you. the most important thing is just to make sure you get all your hair.....the first time i did my hair by myself, i ended up with a patch of hair on the back of my head that i had missed =/ i use feria. it's got this shine serum that you mix in with the dye, and it makes your hair color super shiny and beautiful!
p.s. - your hair won't turn green
brunette.. kinda like this.. u dont have 2 do curly, but i have dat kinda hair
No. The only reason it will turn green is from chlorine, copper, or any other chemical water supply. So you should be ok.

I have black hair that turns medium-dark brown in the Summer.(now.) What color highlights would be best?
I was looking at caramel highlights, but couldn't find a good picture. Send me a link for any color highlight that works with dark brown hair for the summer.I have black hair that turns medium-dark brown in the Summer.(now.) What color highlights would be best?
The best hi-lites would be the colour your hair turns when exposed to a lot of sun (when it gets damaged). But you want something with a bit more life to it. Going too light looks so phony, and if they are the wrong tone you don't have in your hair, it all looks so very wrong.
The smart thing that everyone else does is have a consultation with a qualified professional hair colourist. This normally is at no charge, at most salons, so there is no problem there. They can do a proper analysis of your hair, tell you if it is possible to do on your hair (take pics of the colour you want), if it would look good on you, and how they would do it. Ask about after-care, about re-touches, about cost, and how to get rid of it if you change your mind. When you have all the facts, then you can make your decision.I have black hair that turns medium-dark brown in the Summer.(now.) What color highlights would be best?

I wouldn't suggest hightlighting black hair, it doesn't usually look that good. Black hair is gorgeous as black only. What color highlights should i get for black hair?
well if you really want highlights, then try a dark shade of blonde/almost brown or dark brown. you could do bits of red and that would reflect nicely in the sun. i think you should leave it plain black though. you could always do a random streak of blue or something.
idk how ur gonna do this, but watevr. u think you should gett a rele dark red highlight if ur going for kinda an edgy look, but if not get a dark brown and maybe some light brown, so that it all kinda blends in and looks more natural

What color highlights can I get with black hair, if any?
brown or auburnWhat color highlights can I get with black hair, if any?
I wouldn't go any lighter than maybe 3-4 shades lighter than your natural color. I would probably do butterscotch. Or the color of a Werthers candy. What color highlights can I get with black hair, if any?
red looks good Carmel also. depends on your coloring cool or warm if your more blue under tones go with more violet red warm use more copper same with your blonde's. beige or Carmel.
a deep red color
[i have black hair, i would suggest] carmel or dark brown
Well you can get like a cranberry red or if you want to stay original go for a brown like Felisha from Cherish
Idk,but if u look n the yellow pages and call a local salon they'll b able to tell u. but if u can, a honey brown color would be cute!
For hair that is not thick, caramel or ight brown.
well...id say a light brown would look best...not blonde...but i think brown would go better than blonde or red....its a suttle color...but if you want ur hair to stand out then go ahead and use a color like blonde or red
A darkish, caramel brown looks nicest and most natural for black hair, also dark, rich reds look good.
dark brown with a little bit of blonde that fits in wit the brown
light brown
No
I think a dark red would be pretty...auburn, I suppose it's called.
Although, if I had black hair, I would be awfully tempted to leave it the way it was. Black hair is pretty.

Please Send Pictures !!!!I have like a golden blonde hair, I'm getting brown highlights, what color would look the best on me?
If you are getting brown into your hair you are lo lighting. I would consider putting brown in but only if you put some high lights of a lighter blond. It would look a little muddy and would not make you feel lively to just put the darker in.

I have black hair (permanent color), so since it鈥檚 not natural will highlighting damage my hair?
I like black hair, but I鈥檓 kind of bored with it, so I just wanted a few strands that are a bit lighter, Are there any other alternatives for having lighter strands without bleaching or damaging it?I have black hair (permanent color), so since it鈥檚 not natural will highlighting damage my hair?
whatever you do, don't get red highlights! Red is the second most difficult color to get out (behind black of course). I had the same problem a month ago, I had dyed my hair blue-black and wanted to go blonde again but a few salons wouldn't do it for me because they said it would ruin my hair. I found a great stylist in OC who told me she would do it for me without ruining my hair. First she told me to start using Baby Shampoo to strip some of the black color off %26amp; make it easier to lighten, THIS WORKS, i tried it. She then dyed it the lightest brown my hair would handle and added thick highlights (on the lowest level 10) so that my hair wouldn't break. it took about 5 hours but i went from having black hair to medium brown/blonde hair %26amp; my hair isnt damaged! as long as you keep it well conditioned %26amp; use shampoo that doesn't have a lot of chemicals in it, your hair shouldn't get damaged.
Hope this helps.I have black hair (permanent color), so since it鈥檚 not natural will highlighting damage my hair?
I completely agree with bluemidnightcam. she is an example of what you should do. now, here's an example of what you SHOULDN'T do:
I had been dyeing my hair blue-black for a year, and I started to get bored of it. I had a couple of highlights, but I wanted to go lighter. so, I decided to try bleaching it from home. Long story short, after 3 consecutive 50 min. bleaching sessions, my hair was fried. I ended up having to go to a salon to get it fixed. I had to get 6 inches of hair cut off, have my hair redyed to make up for the patchy bleach job, %26amp; have a deep conditioning treatment to repair some of the damage. it looks acceptable now, but i ended up blowing $100 in just 2 Days. on top of that, i'm basically on hair probation for the next year %26amp; a half, or until most of it grows out. damage control means no straigtening, hot rollers, or perms... %26amp; especially no bleach. if i dye my hair again, it has to be deposit only. i've been using really good products, and they do help, but my hair is still frizzier than it used to be. oh, and you can still see some darker and lighter patches whenever the red starts to fade! so I have to redo it all the time.
don't do what I did! go to a salon, 'cuz you will probably end up there anyway if you try to do it from home!
i think highlights wont damage it much if yor hair is healthy
no it shouldn't damage your hair. get it done professionally for the best results.

I wanted to put some highlights on my hair. What color is nice to look at?
here are some choices for:
Black:Blonde,dark blue, purple,Red,Hot pink
Blonde:Black,hot pink,blue,purple,orange,green
brown:Blonde, red
Red:Black, burgundyI wanted to put some highlights on my hair. What color is nice to look at?
Well, it's always good to heighlight your hair with a more natural based color, as if someone were to look at you, they'd be not sure whether its natural or if its done. if u r a blonde, 2 to 4 shades lighter works best. dont over do it though, to enhance your color, you need to find the tones that are already bold enough, and the other tones that have the potential to stand out, without looking too fake or trashy.I wanted to put some highlights on my hair. What color is nice to look at?
well, i have.. blonde, brown, red, and black highlights.. with black and brown mixed underneath... it's very pretty, and stylish!!
It all depends on your hair color...I have dark red hair and I always do blonde highlights...burgandy highlights are pretty neat lookin too on any color but blonde. Brown looks good on blonde.
your natural one
burgandy or goldenbrown color is nice to look at
When I look at girls with highlights... what always catches my eye is the look that has the blond all around and the dark brown on the underneath part in the back....
blond... or a light brown... depending on whut your hair color is... but definitely go lighter than your original hair color!
i think blonde is a good choice!!
Go with carmel, blonde and light brown. Those are always a good choice
they will look natural if highlights are within 3 shades of your natural color.
it depends on ur hair color
Depends on what color you hair is. My vote is red though.
Don't go more than a few (probably 2) shades lighter than your natural color, or else it will look very jarring and out-of-place. If you're going for a warmer look, pick a kit that has a bit of red to it, but not a huge amount.
If you're having it done at a salon, tell your ideas to the stylist, and then he/she can probably help you find the best shades.

I'm naturally a brunette, color my hair and have red highlights but how do I make my hair intense red?
the best way to go is bleach blonde THEN you put in the red dye. but first bleach blonde or ur hair will turn orange.
VERY red is deff a hot color. nice choice.

Would just getting highlights get my hair back to its original color?
my hair was naturally a dirty blonde and i dyed it a redish brown.
im not going to post pics because everyone tells me to keep it haha and i want to old hair back.
if i got highlights and just let my hair grow back would it keep it my roots from being visible?Would just getting highlights get my hair back to its original color?
It would help to get back to your natural color with out totally changing your look and add dimension to your hair.Would just getting highlights get my hair back to its original color?
I've done the exact same thing and the only thing you can do is just wait for it to grow out. Adding color to already dyed hair is a bit iffy. You could always dye it a shade darker, but again you have to wait for it to grow out and be patient.
you have to let your hair grow out .
then you have to get it cutt.
yeauh it would keep yr roots from being visable for a while,
but once yr hair grows again your gonna be able to see them.girl myspace

If I keep my hair dark what color highlights can I get?
with OLive toned skinIf I keep my hair dark what color highlights can I get?
You could do several different colors with your hair and skin tone, especially since fall is coming up. I would probably choose a warm, caramel brown and a coppery red color. Those would complement your skin tone and look great for fall and winter. I would definitely stay away from blonde, especially very light, white blondes.
If you don't already have a good colorist/stylist that you can trust, go find you one. Stop by different salons and tell them what you would like and dislike. Ask about their credentials and even references. They should be willing to tell you and you should call their references to see what they think about the way they do their hair.If I keep my hair dark what color highlights can I get?

Take it from a Hairdresser and colorist, I suggest you get hilights in a beautiful caramel color, your hair is very dark and a light blonde will be too much of a contrast, like a zebra! caramel color hilights will brighten up your face, and is a perfect shade with your brown color, I also suggest thin streaks but quite a few! you will look gorgeous! I do this color alot on my customers, and they just love it! hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!! What color highlights shoudl i get on my hair?
You have great hair and you're very pretty, by the way! You have about a level 2G naturally...I'd say go for a caramel color at a level 4. That would look best on you. I don't like the dark hair with platinum highlights look...it's very unnatural looking and it's old and played out.

What color should I dye/highlight/lowlight my hair?
Hey, I'm looking to dye or highlight my hair. I'm 13 and I highlighted two times. What do you think I should do? I'm not really into the whole unatural look of hair. And right now I have like blonde streaks throughout my hair. The colors kind of dead. What I'm afraid of is not having my natural color anymore, so I'm hesitating. What should I do?

http://s322.photobucket.com/albums/nn416鈥?/a>What color should I dye/highlight/lowlight my hair?
Hey. I had the same situation with my hair. I have dark brown hair and have been highlighting it for a long time. I decided to change it up and add low lights and highlights this time. It looks a lot more natural than before. Also, you can change it up during each season. In the winter I ask for more low lights and in the summer more highlights. Good Luck! What color should I dye/highlight/lowlight my hair?
you have nice straight dirty blonde hair
so put some caramel, dark brown and lighter chunks or blonde highlights in yur hair
it will make it look richer and sexier
or if your really looking to catch onto the flow of highlights goin on, you should dye the under layer of your hair a different color like dark brown
well its hot over here in jersey, girls love hair like that
You look washed out, I would go with a medium auburn brown, especially since it's winter. Make sure you use a reddish hair dye or your hair could turn a greenish tint. Yuck!
i think it is clariol that has a color called burgandy, that would look nice on you

What color of highlights should I get I have brown hair.?
strips? what color? does look cute? can I get a boyfriend with this hair? What color of highlights should I get I have brown hair.?
light blonde highlights... but because you are a brunette, make them VERY subtle so as not to cause the ';skunk effect';What color of highlights should I get I have brown hair.?
First of all, I would worry about attracting a guy with your mind and personality, not with your hair or other physical feature.
With that being said, highlights CAN look good. But they can also look very, VERY bad. You don't specify what color of brown your hair is. A light brown can get away with blonde highlights. A medium or dark brown looks better with chestnut highlights. After all, you don't want to look like a skunk.
And also ';stripey'; highlights just look ridiculous. They look obviously fake and I *personally* think they look skanky. You want a more natural look, not strips of color running down your hair.
do not get strips, only really thin streaks running all throughout the hair, especially in the under-layer
I would get caramel color, that way, they grow out better than the blonde does, which means that if you get blonde, you are stuck with them unless you re-color or if you re-highlight.
Also, see if you can get it done professionally with foils, I would not recommend doing any highlighting at home, unless you want ugly golden color with streaks that later on will start to bronze
I ahve medium brown hair and just got my highlights 2 weeks ago! I got a darkblond/ caremel color and the guys have been falling for me like crazy!!! This one guy just won't leave me alone!! And another one compliments me everyday, and says my hair is so sexy.
not unless he loves hair, or something. but, i think u should get blonde highlights, or if u have dark brown hair, hot pink, red or purple. it'll make people really notice you.
It really depends on what shade of brown your hair is. And really....you shouldn't be changing your hair color if your main objective is getting a boyfriend. Do it for yourself. A decent guy would like you for your personality, not for your hair color.
i have brown hair and a few years ago i highlighted it with a dark blonde.
California Blond..so adorable
hair highlights dont drag guys but they can look hideous or they can look great. people with curly hair should not get blonde highlights. it looks awfull if u r guna get them u should get a different shade of brown. that way it looks natural but cute
light blonde highlights... but because you are a brunette, make them VERY subtle so as not to cause the ';skunk effect';What color of highlights should I get I have brown hair.?

What color should I highlight my jet black hair?
I want something different before spring break ends. I'm an Indian and my skin color is sort of between light brown and medium brown based on this page, http://www.tybinc.com/images/fp_platters鈥?/a> .Thanks if you help. What color should I highlight my jet black hair?
Caramel!
Im indian too, and hunny trust me, it looks great.
I have it too, what they will probably do is get you a mix between blonde and caramel, blonde looks fake on us, but the darker shade or brown/blonde will make it look natural.
If you want it to look really natural, get more highlights and not far away from each other, get the small width ones.
I have the same exact thing, and no one believes that there not natural.(:
Good luckWhat color should I highlight my jet black hair?

i'm 15 and i live in CT, so people aren't really ';outspoken'; but i'm different and cool and funky, BUT I'M NOT GOTH OR PUNKISH
i don't want red or like any kind of gothic thing- i want some fun highlights and i don't care what kind of color!
Thanks
I have hair down to my shoulders, kinda layered, with full face bangsWhat color highlights for my color hair?
Well since your hair is a more deeper brown, id say you would look good with chocolate brown highlights. Like this color:
