What color highlights go with dark brown hair ?

I'm thinking about dyeing my hair dark brown again for my new before school starts and i want get also get highlights but I'm not sure color i should get i was thinking like red or blonde or something. can you guys please give me a highlight color and a brown color to go has my base color (pics would help) thanks.

The best highlights are the ones that go great with dark brown hair are the ones that are like Blonde Carmel Red and Golden.

well it depends on ur personality like if ur punk go with a neon pink or a tiffany's/robin egg blue but if your mre classy go for a little lighter shade than ur haircolor so it won't blend if ur trashy then get strawberry blonde since u have brown hair hope i help =]

It should just cover up the highlights you got. Nothing to worry about...if anything, the highlights will be a little lighter than the rest of your hair, but I doubt it.
if you color full head one color like you said auburn your highlight still be lighter than the others, you have to color your highlights first much darker than your the color you choose to make then equal, or else go to the expert trusted salon they can help you to color your hair equally!

u know, if you have VERY curly hair, highlights ar not going to look very good. But, maybe caramel. Blonde, is one that every1 has! good luck, hoped this helped!
I have dark brown hair but its not curly and i had blond and red highlights that looked good and in the passed year i got red and black highlights so be careful with the colors because of your curly hair but sometimes taking risks pays off..i mean none of my friends thought black and red would look good on me but now they love it so it really depends on what you want and what you think would look good! hope i helped

no, I do this all the time. I keep my base shade of med. golden blonde and go to the salon for highlights and haircut. In between I touch up the roots only with my med. golden blonde. I usually go to the salon for highlights, three times a year. More visits for haircuts alone.

I think that no color would look fine...but with curly hair, red won't show that much. I think a caramel. I have a friend with super curly hair, she put a light caramel brown color and it looks great. Don't dye your hair, those color highlights would look fantastic.


I would think that streaks are best, the bottom fringe isn't really a curly hair thing, more of the straight hair...
