Dyed my hair dark brown but its not fading and looks black, what color highlights and how?

I dyed it dark brown and it came out black. This usually happens but eventually it fades. This time it is not fading at all. I dont have a lot of MULA soo any suggestions for a cheap fix would be appreciated.


i know you should just go to a salon..and i'm contemplating that but I just want to see if I can fix it for a relatively small amount of money.

if ur hair is kinda black now, then u should use like a kind of


caramel- honey colored highlight to make it look natural.

try putting in light brown highlights. since its not fading u might wanna leave the dye in like a few minutes longer, but too long. like about 3-4 min. longer
