Since my hair is already colored, before getting highlights can they color it another color?

I had my hair colored dark brown and my natural color is a dirty blonde color. While i am at the salon to get the highlights can they color my hair another color first so that i can get back to my natural color?Since my hair is already colored, before getting highlights can they color it another color?
Yes we can take you back to your natural color. To do so would involve lightening it first with bleach. Color does not lift color! Unless you have very strong hair, my suggestion to you would be go heavier on your hightlights so your all over hair color is lighter, folowed by toning some of the highlighted hair with a darker blond that is closer to your natural level. The result would be you have some lighter blonde streaks, with streaks of a darker blond, mixed with the med brown color you started with.... Yes. But the more you color, the more it damages your hair. It is worse for your hair to lighten it than to make it darker. But yes, they can color it any way you want!
